Its been interesting to think about over the last 4-5 months and realize that most of us have or will soon attain the status of being in the 8th Decade of our life. For some this may be the age when we thought everyone is officially "old". But I have decided personally that "I get to be 80". I'm sure when we graduated from high school "80" was a very far off number, that felt like our great-grandparents age. But now here we are at that wonderful "golden age" of maturity. I think probably most of us are already one of those "great-grandparents" that we once thought was old.
As we think of ourselves being in the 8th Decade, I think we should ponder the fact many in our class didn't make it this far. Then we can truly be thankful and blessed to have lived this long, to keep putting one foot in front of the other as we walk gracefully into the 80's. Then our children, grandchildren and great-grandchidren can be impressed that they too, are blessed to have us still in their lives. Just some thoughts to pass on - hope all of you have had or will have a WONDERFUL 80th BIRTHDAY!! Also we graduated 63 years ago next month!
